You are warmly invited to our Easter services:

Two thousand years ago the Roman army executed a young Jewish man. He was one of tens of thousands to die in this way. We have forgotten all the others, but we have not forgotten him. He is remembered – even worshipped – by millions of people all around the world. Why?

There is a simple answer: he is the Son of God and he rose from the dead, and is alive today.

If the resurrection is true (and the Bible says it is), then there is life after death! Jesus’ conquering of death gives hope to us all. We too can share in his victory over death and live for ever, even though we die.

If you’re already sure you have a place in heaven, why not join us in worshipping God this Easter, to thank him for what he has done for you? And if you’re not yet sure, why not find out for yourself whether you can really know that Jesus died and rose for you? The Bible tells us that the Good News about Jesus was written so “that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that in believing you may have life in his name” (John 20:31).

This Easter, we at Bethel Evangelical Church invite you to join us at one of our special Easter services. Whether you already believe, or you’re not sure, or even if you’re a sceptic, you’ll be sure of a very warm welcome, and an opportunity to hear what the Bible says about some of the most important questions you could ever ask.

Real Lives

In June 2008, we’re holding a series of events called Real Lives, and publishing a free newspaper that will be distributed around Clydach and the surrounding area. Both the the newspaper and the special events are designed to tell the stories of special guests and members of the church – and show how God is changing lives for the better.

Today we’ve added a Real Lives section to our website that will keep you in touch with everything that is going on, and introduce you to the special guests who will be joining us.

New series on Philippians

Today we start a new series on Sunday mornings on Philippians. Philippians is a wonderfully warm book built that lifts up Christ both as our example, and as our hope. The book is based around three key themes:

Christ is the source of all my joy
Christ is my hope in all my sufferings
Christ is the bond in all my relationships

Invitation to Christianity Explored

Christianity Explored is a short course exploring the basics of the Christian faith: What is God like? Who is Jesus? And how is this relevant to me?

Christianity Explored starts on Thursday 25th September, and lasts for ten weeks. The course is free of charge, and there’s no need to book. There’s no singing or praying – instead there’s a short presentation that explores the Bible, then an opportunity for discussion and questions.

The evening lasts from 7pm-8:30pm, and includes a light meal. All are welcome.

Invitation to the Harvest Service

This year’s harvest service will be on Sunday 21st September, at 6pm. Everyone is welcome, and there’s no charge. The service will be followed by refreshments.
